Installed new sod. Watered every day for 30+ minutes. Mowed 20 days after install. It was very high maybe 5”.
Definitely received more than 1” per week of water.
KBG 350 sq ft in 6a.
In 7 days everything turned yellow, crispy, and died. The mush is what’s left.

You watered it to death.
Too much water.
It was severely overwatered and expired due to submersion.
Pythium from overwatering.
My new grass has spots like this because I over watered and then it rained for days.
Jeez. Usually people with new sod underwater.
OP overwatered.
30 mins a day, assuming 4 gallons per minute from the sprinkler, is 120 gallons a day.
On 350 Sq feet of lawn, that is 0.55 inches per day, or just about 4 inches/week.
That’s more than even a fully mature KBG lawn needs.
OP, you drown your lawn.
Why u kill?
Call the landscaper that installed it and tell him it was no good and you want a refund for the lolz
Whoa… think you put 1ft per week on that bad boy.
Drowned it.
Going through something similar with my sod, only it’s rained every day for the past month. Sometimes there’s nothing you can do.
When the lawn is literally half full
Holy water Batman, so when you do this again, you need to let the roots dry out in between watering , you need to train the sod to go looking for water and grow roots
No drainage
Certainly different from the usual new lawn needing more water post.
Honestly can say I haven’t seen a new lawn watered to death post until today.

Looks like too much water lol
Why did you water it that much?
Overwatered the grass and the roots didn’t have a chance to take hold. Now that it’s dried out, maybe it will wake up from a dormant state and begin to grow.

Dudes grass trying to hang on
Drowning is my worst fear

Too much water and fungus killed it.
Only St Augustine wants that much water.
Where do you expect the water to go when you water?
Besides overwatering you also need a spot or two so the water can drain, especially for a torrential downpour

I’m sorry OP. I really am. But I had to join in on the memes.
But for actual advice, cut some breaks in the curbs so it doesn’t drown in a small amount. A good rain and that water has nowhere to go.
The kiddie pool is almost a perfect amount for your square footage.
Root rot from too much water
Is there proper soil under the sod? This looks like you made a box of grass on top of the pavers
This one’s easy, no drainage. Roots rotted.
Most of the problem is it’s in a raised bed which holds water. It doesn’t get a chance to leech into surrounding soil like it would on open lawn. It just saturates the soil below and when that becomes over saturated there’s nowhere for it to go.
